One of the most well known facts of nature is that hot air rises. Together with the hot air, water vapour also rises. High up in the air, where it is very cold, this water vapour condensates or 'form small droplets of water' which we perceive as clouds and before we know it, it rains! We cannot see hot air rise, but we can certainly test if it is true with the following science experiment:
STUFF YOU NEED [MATERIALS]
- THIN STRING
- TIN FOIL SHEET
HOW TO PROCEED [PROCEDURE]
- Cut out a spiral out of a piece of aluminium foil of about 120mm in diameter.
- Fix the inside end of the spiral to a thin piece of string and the other end to the tip of a pencil to hold the spiral with.
