What’s it about?

Musical instruments make sounds by vibrating and then causing the air around it to vibrate. The specific sound that a musical instrument makes depends on how such an instrument vibrates the air around it. There are many ways to make music with simple instruments like a ‘Kazoo’ as you will see in the following science experiment:

How does it work?

Unfortunately, this section is only available in the e-book version of the project.

This science experiment works because the sound waves that are produced by the humming or the singing into the tube, vibrates the tissue paper at the other end of the tube. This vibration is caused by the sound waves, and produces the unusual ‘kazoo’ sound.

Like the sound of it?
