What’s it about?

When most people think about Helium, they think about birthday balloons and funny sounding chipmunk voices. Sure, these might be the most popular uses, but Helium also has many other interesting uses.

There are many fascinating ways of determining the height of a ceiling without having to physically measure its height with a tall ladder and measuring tape! In this science experiment, use a helium balloon to measure the height of your school hall’s ceiling height:

In this science experiment, you can measure your school hall’s ceiling height using helium’s lighter than air properties to let a balloon rise up to the ceiling. By measuring the length of the string tied to the balloon from the floor to the top of the balloon, you can obtain the total ceiling height of the hall.
