Battery commercials and ads always boast how their brand is the very best. Surely, these brands cannot all be the best? Some batteries might have the best price, others can have better shelf life and some might provide power for the longest amount of time. With this science experiment, you can easily find the best battery brand that will provide great, long lasting service and might even be relatively inexpensive:

How does it work?

Batteries generate electricity from a chemical reaction taking place inside the battery. The reaction is enabled by an electrolyte so that when a battery is connected to an electric circuit, the electrolyte reacts with a metal, causing electrons to be released. Various factors might influence the length of operation of a battery, such as ambient heat during operation or during storage, age and the type of components used within a battery.
